Life can be wonderful, but it usually has ups and downs. For
many it is a struggle to earn a living. Even for those who are well off, illness can
devastate a life and no one is immune to illness. Disasters hit without discrimination.
Crime is abundant in every country. Relationships fail. Families and friends drift apart.
Then you get old and die.
Good News: Life is Temporary
Hmmm. This is good news?
Yes, it is good news. Life doesn't end with death, it begins.
But this won't be good news for everyone. Life offers us a chance to get to know God, who
made us for His delight. We have the option of spending forever with Him, in perfect
health, enjoying all the blessings He has in store for us. This is available to anyone who
will acknowledge that they have disobeyed God (sinned) and that God's Son, Jesus, a
perfect man, died willingly in our place.
But sadly, most will not avail themselves of this free gift.
They don't like the conditions of the gift. They are not willing to give up their right to
make bad choices and live the way they want to live, ignoring the blessings from obeying
God.
Because, if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will
forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
